OUR STORY

Founded in August 2011 and granted 501(c)(3) status in July 2013, the organization was built on a commitment to expanding access to resources, education, and opportunity.

In August 2013, PSCDG launched its first pilot program in the City of North Miami—a literacy initiative designed to support Haitian and immigrant populations facing language barriers.

As the organization grew, PSCDG expanded its efforts to include additional initiatives focused on literacy, job readiness, and youth development. In 2014, this included programs such as the Women and Girls N.O.W. Project and a literacy-focused summer camp serving children from low-income communities.

These early initiatives helped lay the foundation for the programs and services PSCDG offers today, shaping its continued commitment to empowering individuals and strengthening communities.

OUR FOUNDER

NADEGE VILSAINT

As early as I can remember growing up, I have always felt this ardent desire to help and serve others with love.  After obtaining my Masters Degree in Social Work from Barry University, I worked for many years as a Registered Licensed Clinical Social Worker, because I knew that many people and particularly our youths, were suffering and needed help.

Prosperity Social & Community Development Group, Inc. (PSCDG) was created out of love and passion to help.  As one of my favorite scripture, 1 Corinthians 13 describes the importance of “Love” and PSCDG is based on just that, with the main purpose of providing meaningful opportunities for social and economic development to strengthen the community by providing holistic guidance, advocacy and support to minority families, immigrants, women, teen-girls, and homeless youths in Miami-Dade county.

As a non-profit organization, through the support of federal, state, local funding and social enterprise ventures as well, PSCDG has created 6 major programs to help the community. CWe are committed to significantly improve the lives of those in need in our community by developing strong community alliances with county, state officials, public, and private agencies.

Our success lies in the testimonies of those we were able to serve and despite the challenges of their realities, have used the opportunities and experience they received through our programs, and helped them become their best selves.
