A New Way Forward: Wilson Lariston’s Story of Growth!

At 16, Wilson Lariston has already made meaningful changes in his life. Once facing challenges as a troubled teen, he has completed all of his RYIP requirements and is committed to creating a better future. Wilson describes himself as understanding, hardworking, a good listener, and someone who works well independently or with others.

Wilson learned about RYIP through a friend and immediately felt welcomed. Through the program, he learned the importance of communication, professionalism, and believing in himself. These lessons have helped him grow both personally and professionally.

Today, Wilson is in school and working as an assistant at St. Fort Funeral Home. He is gaining valuable work experience, building responsibility, and saving his money toward his goal of purchasing a car. He is focused on becoming more independent and financially stable.

Wilson dreams of becoming a professional ball player and sees himself financially stable within the next five years. His biggest transformation, however, is his mindset: "I used to think I couldn't, but now l know I could." Wilson's story shows that with determination, support, and a change in mindset, your past does not have to define your future.
